What a week!

Wow!  What a week!  I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this week, even in a small way.

We had our door-knocking campaign this week, and in less than 5 days (because it rained some!), the teams knocked approximately 7300 doors!!!!  The Lord blessed us with 7 baptisms and many, many Bible studies.   Sometimes, it can be easy to forget just how powerful God's word really is if we are just able to get it out to people.   We talked in services the other night about how, sometimes, we can feel like we've reached the last person interested in studying about God or in serving and pleasing God, but there is always someone else out there!  It just takes having the diligence and knowledge to FIND that person!

Overall, it was an exhausting week, but it was a "good" kind of tired!  I kept children all week so that parents could knock doors (could you see me trying to do that in my robot boot??), and we had a blast!  It was tiring, but I'm so grateful I was able to serve in that way.  We had a few short devos with the kids and played lots of games, did crafts, had a scavenger hunt, and watched some old cartoons when we were all just too pooped to do anything else!  I am so thankful for the ladies who helped me in this work...I couldn't have done it without you!!

I was also so encouraged to see SOOOOO many of my brothers and sisters being involved in this effort.  People were there for every session, and the enthusiasm was contagious!   It was so exciting to all be working fervently towards the same goal.  We ate 2 or 3 meals a day together, we worked together, we prayed together, and we worshipped together.  One elder's wife commented that it was "like camp for adults."  When the last service ended, no one wanted to go home!  Some teens were still there after midnight when a young man chose to put the Lord on in baptism!!

Those of you who are my Christian family, please continue to keep our congregation in your prayers as we strive to follow-up on all the contacts and as we all try to support our new brothers and sisters in the faith.   The hard work is still ahead of us, and I am unbelievably thankful for the men who serve as elders in our congregation and who lead our little flock.

If you are reading this and don't understand why we would do such a campaign or what people might choose to study about after being contacted by our door-knockers, please feel free to ask!!!   I'd love to share God's word with you!!
